RE: Amarillo, TX RV Park

All the previous posts have good suggestions, but I will add another. When we are headed to Colorado, we turn off I 40 to the north bypass 335. At that intersection we have stayed several times at the "Overnight RV Park." It is an older park and shows signs of its age, but it is convenient and right on our route. I hope it hasn't gone down even further, but our stay there in the past has been pleasant.

RE: Glacier is now fully open

Our visit to Glacier NP was on the west side. We took Hwy 2 around from Browning to Hungry Horse and stayed at the Mountain Meadow RV park in Hungry Horse. Mountain Meadow RV I would definitely go back there again based on our good experience. We based there for our visit to Glacier NP.

Caprock Canyon, TX to Lake Santa Rosa, NM

OK, I am familiar with the route though Amarillo and may well decide to take that route. However, I thought I'd check on the alternate routes to see if anyone here has recent personal experience. 1> Through Fort Sumner, NM: TX 86 to US 60 to US 84 at Fort Sumner I have made this route and remember that US 84 from Fort Sumner to Santa Rosa was a roller coaster for my fifth-wheel. 2> TX 86 to FM 1058 becomes NM 241 -> NM 209 -> NM 156 to US 84. Towing a 34' fifth-wheel, 25 years experience in New Mexico and Colorado towing. Only seeking personal experience on these specific routes.

RE: Suggestions

Creekwood and Pride are right next to one another. Both are nice parks. Some sites are better than other like all parks. I haven't been there is a few years but not much changes there. The park is very well kept so I don't think it would disappoint you. I can confirm what Ken has said. We have never stayed in "Pride" but several times in "Creekwood." Always enjoyed it. We had to pay a little extra to be "on the creek," but worth it to us. Very handy to Waynesville and to I-40 N or S.
